Do you have old photographs that need to be restored, but you are not sure how to correctly do this? Then it is important to learn photo restoration techniques that can help restore any photo. This article is going to tell you the most important techniques to know in order to enhance old photos.

Here are the most important techniques to know.

One: The first thing you want to do is to scan your old photo into your computer. This is very important because the photo will need to be on your computer so you can use software to enhance it. Scan any photographs into your computer first before starting to enhance them to save yourself time.

Two: Crop all photos to be enhanced using the software program. This is important for removing any areas of the photo that are damaged, or for removing any distractions in the background of the pictures. Be sure you save the new cropped picture with a new name so you don’t damage the original copy.

Three: Adjust the lighting in each picture. Improve the lighting as much as you can so it looks natural. This will help to bring the photograph back to life.

Four: Adjust the color of the photo so it is correct. This will help sharpen the color and make it look new, instead of old.

Five: Get rid of the dust, blurs and scratches that can be seen. There are tools in the software that can be used that will help to remove these things.

These are the five most important photo restoration techniques that need to be known in order to restore any old photographs. Don’t skip any of these things of your pictures will not come out the best that they can.

I think enhancing and repairing old photos is an area that hasn’t been explored enough by tutorials. This is a good start, but I hope you come back and revisit this subject in the future. Because until Lynda.com or Kelby Training has a good tutorial on this I think there is a whole for this sort of tutorial. Thanks.
